Massachusetts Advocates Standing Strong is a statewide self-advocacy organization that supports, nurtures, and promotes self-advocacy in youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). What We're Looking For

We're seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our small, dedicated team in Boston. Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Record and categorize financial transactions using QuickBooks Online

  2. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions

  3. Prepare and analyze financial reports for management review

  4. Conduct account analysis and reconciliation

  5. Assist with payroll processing and month-end close procedures

  6. Support the Executive Director and Operations Manager with various tasks

  7. Manage general administrative tasks related to bookkeeping, budgeting, and responding to contract requests

  8. Maintain confidentiality of coworkers' information and handle sensitive data appropriately

  9. Reconcile and monitor bank accounts and credit cards

  10. Ensure accuracy and proper documentation of all recorded transactions

  11. Manage multiple priorities effectively while demonstrating flexibility, adaptability, and ownership

  12. Exhibit exceptional written and oral communication skills, with polished interpersonal abilities

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have a background in financial management and accounting principles.

  • Experience with Quickbooks, Payroll processing, Excel, and Google Suite is preferred.

  • Understanding of accounting principles and practices

  • Experience with general ledger reconciliation

  • Familiarity with payroll processing and account analysis

  • Efficiently handle accounts payable tasks

  • Competence in budgeting and financial forecasting

  • Patience and flexibility in working with coworkers with intellectual and developmental disabilities
