What are we making?
Ramen Bowl
For our main meal, we'll be making a delicious bowl of ramen soup! Pick your own ingredients or use this recipe to follow along. The main things we'll be using are protein (like chicken), vegetables (like spinach, peppers, and carrots), noodles, and seasonings. You'll need to use a pot and the stove. But don't worry if you don't use the stove! We have a microwave version available as well.
Peanut Butter Nice Cream
For dessert, we'll be whipping up some Peanut Butter Nice Cream. "Nice Cream" is a healthy alternative to ice cream, using bananas as the main ingredient. For this recipe, you'll want to use a blender, some bananas, and peanut butter powder as well as cocoa powder, both of which you can buy at the grocery store.
Get Prepared
To make the most of our time together, please have your ingredients ready to go when the class begins. We'll use frozen vegetables for the Ramen and you can peel and freeze your bananas for the Nice Cream ahead of time. You can also have your pots, pans, knives, and blender on the counter ready to go.
Who are the Healthy Self-Advocates?
MASS' Healthy Self-Advocates are self-advocates who work with MASS on issues that affect people's health, like what we eat and going to the doctor. In this class, they will cook these recipes so you can learn how to make a simple, accessible, and delicious meal.
